It Continues

Day 33 of the government shutdown. How long will it continue? As long as the two main political parties can score political points out of it?

Symptoms and pain never go away. Our appetite has gone down some more. Also, our tolerance for salt. But you do the best you can to try and cope.

Protect yourself.

Trying to get more sleep at night. But it's always a struggle. Went almost two days without any (partially due to my dad needing a heart procedure). Not major surgery, but still like anything has risks. It was a REAL struggle to try and focus with almost no rest. After that, just went home and to bed. Pain Is Always There

Another day of fighting symptoms and trauma pain. Arthritic pain comes and goes. Now, it's back again. I can walk, but it hurts. But you have to fight back. Don't let your guard down. If you do, you'll fall apart. The pain is always there. You're not permenantly damaged. But it never goes away. Set boundaries as best you can. You have to protect your well being.

Exhaustion

Another night of almost no sleep at all. You try to fall asleep, but then almost every hour on the hour you wake up. You try to get out of bed and feel like you got hit by a car. Add to that nightmares. Then, you struggle thru the rest of the day trying to not black out from exhaustion and dissociating. What choice do you have? You don't want to relapse and pig out on salt and sugar to satisfy your cravings (which is a common trauma survivor problem). Do something in tiny steps. Then rest for 20 minutes. Then try again. Then rest for 20 minutes. What else can you do?
